Job Description :

Caxton Associates, founded in 1983, is a New York-based trading and investment firm with further offices in New Jersey, London, Monaco and Singapore. Caxton Associates’ primary business is to manage client and proprietary capital through global macro hedge fund strategies. Assets are managed via a broad mandate to trade in a variety of global markets and instruments.

 

The role:

The firm's 30 portfolio management teams engage in a diverse set of investment strategies spanning all asset classes, products and geographies. The middle office team is an integral part of the firm and ensures timely, accurate and thorough execution of trade support and portfolio valuation functions.  We are seeking a Front Office Valuations and Trade Flow Engineer to support the following critical systems:  trade capture, real-time P&L, and business apps.

 

Principal Responsibilities 

Resolve discrepancies in real-time P&L systems by identifying root cause (e.g., booking errors, bad data feeds, or system configuration) then escalating to appropriate teams for resolution. 

Interface directly with portfolio managers, traders, product control teams, and external vendors to ensure support requests are handled in a timely and transparent manner.  

Monitor and resolve exceptions in trade capture systems. 

Reproduce software issues in testing environments to determine patch requirements. 

Become subject matter expert on monitoring tools (e.g., trade flow dashboards, automated alerts, and log capture) and develop improvements to these tools. 

Responsible to create and maintain application user guides and support runbooks.

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in math, tech, or science discipline.

SQL skills and familiarity with RDBMS like PostgreSQL, MySql etc.

1 year of experience supporting financial applications.

Theoretical knowledge of valuation of financial products.

Up-to-date market sentiment and knowledge of current economic trends.  

Excellent problem solving, task prioritization, and time management skills.

Positive attitude and proactive response to business needs.

Detailed understanding of fixed income products with broad exposure across asset classes.

Experience with Excel.

Familiarity with FIX Protocol and or Orchestrade is an advantage.
