BRTVIO  is seeking an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer, full-time employee or contractor, to join our growing team of experts in delivering unmatched value to projects and people. An exciting variety of opportunities exist to help deliver applications by bridging the gap from idea to implementation. This position has the ability to influence backend development best practices within the organization and contribute to internal training material.

• Work closely with other engineers to pioneer and spearhead backend technologies
• Create reusable, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested solutions
• Mentor and motivate others around you with your passion and expertise
• Collaborate with product owners and other engineers on building high-quality features
• Capable of owning projects through design, implementation, and deployment
• Effectively prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
• Write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to various audiences
• Gather requirements, write functional/technical specifications, and communicate them effectively
• Communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
• Create one piece of content (blogs, articles, videos) quarterly

Requirements

Must haves:

• 5+ years professional Java web application experience
• Work experience as a Senior Java Developer or similar role.
• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Java EE
• REST API development experience
• Experience writing tests using JUnit and Mockito
• Relational DB experience.
• Confident working with modern development tools such as Git and Maven
• Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum concepts and experience working in an Agile environment
• Strong communication skills to interface with product owners, stakeholders, and team members
• A strong desire to learn new technologies

Bonus points:

• Front-end development: modern JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Angular, React, etc.
• Experience developing Microservices
• Spring Cloud
• Experience working with message queues
• Oracle Database experience
