Mobile Application Developer

This job opportunity is for our client at their location and for CPT candidates. Design and develop software applications (apps) for mobile phones, tablets, Smartphones, along with other mobile devices - Specifically Android and iOS. Manage the full application development life cycles such as auditing, implementation, and testing. Perform product design, bug verification, and beta assistance which might require analysis and research. Career-Level role within the field. Seen as proficient and skilled highly in the discipline. Conducts complicated labour essential to the business. Works under little supervision with large latitude for independent judgment. Usually involves 6 to 9 years of equivalent combination of relevant experience of education and experience.

The Digital Innovation Mobile Contractor will partner with the eCommerce Digital Innovation staff and it to create, application, and test different "proof of concept" tasks. In the evolving Digital e-commerce area, new technologies show up in the marketplace at a regular speed. This changing landscape takes a versatile staff that's in touch with the sector, passionate about technology that is new, while at exactly the same time in the position to recognize the requirements of the customers of ours and just how emerging technology is able to better the consumer experience.

For iOS

1. Develop:

• Partner with the e-commerce team and IT to prepare and program various “proof of concepts” for testing
• Understand back-end system/services to access when building out fronts for testing
• Ability to creatively architect and design programs to meet the goals and requirements of various projects
• Excellent with Objective-C and Swift, and Cocoa Touch
• Excellent with IOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animations.
• Experience with Apple Pay, Apple Push Notifications are a positive plus
• Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning
• Proficient with RESTful API’s to connect iOS applications to back-end services
• Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools such as Instruments a plus
• Familiarity with continuous integration

2. Test and Iterate

• Partner with the e-commerce Innovation and IT teams to rest and iterate on developed software and programs
• Ability to quickly adapt to changes and learning from field testing
• Quickly integrate and update projects

3. Hand-off:

• Prepare projects for hand-off and deployments as “proof concepts” move to production

For Android

1. Develop:

• Partner with the e-commerce team and IT to prepare and program various “proof of concepts” for testing
• Understand back-end system/services to access when building out fronts for testing
• Ability to creatively architect and design programs to meet the goals and requirements of various projects
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Proficient with RESTful API’s to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns and best practices
• Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Familiarity with Cloud Message APIs and Push Notifications
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Familiarity with continuous integration

• Ability to quickly adapt to changes and learning from field testing
