SQL DBA

Required Skills:

• 5+ years working within Linux/Unix is preferred
• MySQL 5.1, 5.6, cloud systems, or virtual environment experience.
• Data modeling experience is data warehouse a plus-will win the role
• Scripting experience preferably in Perl -will win the role  Primary responsibilities
• Responsible for the application lifecycle development database environment support and production deployments
• Setup and maintain database structures required by applications
• Troubleshoot and tune application database code
• Create and maintain database standards, solution designs, documentation, and engineering
• Work on the automation of database tasks and administrative functions
• Design and manage backup and recovery solutions
• Optimize database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost
• Evaluate and implement technology and process improvement initiatives
• Serves as SME in all aspects of data management and database design
• Ensure company and regulatory policies and procedures compliance in related tasks
• Troubleshoot and resolving complex database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
• Provide 24x7 system database administration support for all production and remote site systems
• Manage third party relationship with MySQL support contracts

Duration: 6 months with an option to convert

Location: Remote but Charlotte, NC would be preferred
