Job Description :

rth American transportation solutions (including Alabama, Canada, and Mexico) Direct benchmarking of internal and external (domestic and global) transportation processes to identify and define the best practices of the industry. Utilize the aforementioned benchmarking results to develop Honda s next North American Transportation management model. Clearly, consistently, and proactively convey corporate direction / rationale to Team Managers / Coordinators in order to ensure clear communication throughout teams Set and meet Unit performance targets and measures, monitor progress and implement countermeasures when necessary Develop solutions to problems of various scope and complexity using Honda problem solving methods Make sound decisions with some direction Apply key customer (upstream, downstream, and end-user) viewpoint in all Unit activities Implement change by engaging associates in creating and implementing characteristic improvements Build a network of productive relationships across HAM / HNA / Global Operations to achieve Unit plans and targets Your Responsibilities Develop long-term vision for NAL Transportation Unit from total supply chain perspective (Supply base  Overseas Plant Lineside delivery) Develop department controls /processes to ensure daily execution of PDCA process for SQDQM key control points Lead development / execution of yearly Business Plan or Midterm Themes (including SA - PDCA process) Lead development and publication of monthly and quarterly business plan reports Manage HR/Admin - PPR process for NAL unit including associate development, succession planning, HRSP planning. Coordinate activity between NAL Unit and Logistics Provider management teams to ensure good linkage between B-Plan, Budget, Daily Operational, and future NM or Innovation activities. Management of Transportation control tower functions Present strategic transportation development plans as required. Mentor/Advise associates daily on key activities or requirements for week/month. Lead/Support applicable department or project team meetings. Interface between NAL, NA Sites, 3PL s and Global Operations to stay current with business or system advances. What You Need To Be Successful In The Role Demonstrated capability w/ Honda Philosophy Leadership skills, Planning, Organizing Demonstrated problem solving ability: problem identification, root cause analysis, countermeasure identification, and situation analysis study. Business Planning /Midterm theme development Strong communication capabilities (able to communicate a problem summary explanation to diverse audience). Broad range of computer skills. (Microsoft Office) Strong PDCA understanding/skills MOST experience or equivalent process time study tools Ability to learn and excellent performer. A Few Other Important Details Set strategic direction for each NAL Team Function Correlate/Coordinate overall strategic transportation direction for the NAL Department Based on Strategic direction ensure that annual and beyond NAL Planning Unit business plan reflects activity and targets to achieve strategic direction Turn PDCA monthly (within Unit and across Dept.) for business Plan Achievement via monthly reports
