Can I use my standard OPT unemployment days after being laid off as my EAD is still under process?

I'm presently working at a firm through which I'd used for the Stem Opt back of mine in mid-June. Nevertheless, I'll be leaving the organization on 15th of August during which I'll still not have the EAD card of mine in hand as the software is still processing. And so, I'll certainly be unemployed for a short time. During this particular period am I allowed to work with my remaining Standard OPT unemployment days even in case I have not received the Stem OPT card of mine? Remember to allow me to know in case I can make use of it or perhaps else what other alternative do I've.

This will depend on the type of OPT you have been authorized for. Students on post-completion OPT have up to 90 days of unemployment. Note that those who have OPT extended due to the H-1B cap-gap provisions are still subject to the 90-days rule and will continue to accrue unemployment time. Those who have earned a degree in certain science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields and have been authorized for a 24-month extension of post-completion OPT employment authorization have an additional 60 days of unemployment and in total, 150 days of unemployment.
