The ideal candidate is highly analytical, has experience in employee benefits and/or underwriting, and has advanced Excel skills. :
- Attend training sessions and/or courses to develop skills and pursue insurance related designations
- Use report templates for: renewal analysis, benchmarking, trend surveys, requests for proposals, proposal analysis, annual report, and other routine client work such as experience reports
- Review and with guidance analyze and provide interpretation of technical issues relating to employee benefits and new insurance products and/or services
- Provide technical assistance for special projects and/or services including rate calculations, cost projections, financial settlement, analysis, alternative funding options, and alternative plan designs
- Supply producers with clients’ financial impact and information related to the laws and regulations (state and federal) impacting group health and welfare benefit plans from generated reports
- Assist Technical Consultant(s) with internal technical training
- Support Technical Consultant(s) when they are conducting carrier seminars on technical issues
- Maintain good relations with carrier personnel
- Keep current on marketplace changes and inform clients as necessary
- Other duties or special projects may be assigned
- Strong functional knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
- Must have, or obtain within the six (6) months, a current Life & Health Insurance License in required states
- Experience in the field of data analytics, employee benefits or medical underwriting highly preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
