F1 OPT Travel

Can F1 OPT holders travel from the EU to the US despite the travel ban or is it only for F1 holders - not OPT? If anyone is in the same situation, I'd be grateful if she/he could share her/his experience. I am getting positive answers sometimes - saying I can leave and return to the US- but some are more confusing... Below is the mail/request: I am writing to you regarding the recent National Interest Exceptions for Certain travelers from the Schengen Area published by the U.S. Department of State on July 16th allowing F1 holders students from the Schengen area to reenter the US despite the current travel ban. I wanted to know if the statement would also allow F1 Visa holders with OPT to reenter the US and not only F1 visa holders without OPT. I am currently a French person living in the US with a F1 visa with OPT. I recently graduated in March 2020 and am now using my OPT since May 2020. I am considering flying to Europe and would like to know if I will be able to reenter the US with the current National Interest Exceptions from the U.S. Department of State despite the current executive travel ban order still in place.

As you are in one of the Schengen countries , there is an exeption for F1, M1 visa holders on travel ban. I think you can travel to the US. But get consult by some legal professionals.

Even if you are on OPT, your visa status is F1 and you fall under the F1 visa category. There should have any problem in your reentry to the United States but cannot give you a confirmation on that.
